The Registration-to-FTD Audit Checklist

Why 10,000 registrations can be a failed campaign — and how to find the leak between an account and a first deposit

THESIS: Registration is the easiest metric in iGaming to inflate and the most dangerous to celebrate. Cheap traffic manufactures accounts by the thousand while producing almost no first-time depositors — and because the dashboard shows a big top-of-funnel number, the campaign looks like a win right up until finance asks where the deposits are. The only honest scoreboard runs further down: registration → FTD → deposit value → retained player value. Reach and registrations are inputs; the FTD is the first moment a campaign touches money. This is the pre-mortem and post-mortem tool: a diagnostic that walks the four places the registration-to-FTD conversion leaks — wrong geo, bonus-only intent, curiosity-not-deposit-intent content, and message-market misfit — plus the KYC gate and the funnel math underneath. Run it on any campaign showing "great registrations" and weak deposits; the leak is almost always one of these.

HOW TO USE: Score each check ✅ pass / ⚠️ weak / ❌ fail. Any ❌ in Sections A–D is a probable primary leak — fix it before spending another cycle. The verdict rule is at the end. The one number that frames the whole audit: registration-to-FTD rate. A healthy organic campaign in a licensed target geo converts registrations to first deposits at a rate you can baseline and defend; a campaign leaking on the checks below shows fat registrations and a thin, sometimes near-zero, FTD line.

═══

SECTION A — Geo quality (is the traffic even eligible to deposit?)

CHECK 1 — Licence–geo match

CHECK 2 — Payment eligibility in the geo

CHECK 3 — KYC pass rate as a geo signal

SECTION B — Bonus intent (did the offer attract players or bonus-hunters?)
