HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS: Every module has four steps and one prompt. You run the module prompt in Claude, it works through the four steps with your real information, and you save the result into one shared document: the App Brief. Each later module reads the App Brief first, so the work builds on itself instead of starting from zero every time.

WHO IT'S FOR: Founders, heads of growth and product leads of consumer mobile apps, from pre-launch to scaling.

THE THREE RULES

  1. Real inputs only. Paste real interviews, reviews, analytics exports and store pages. Claude marks anything missing as [NEEDS INPUT] instead of guessing.
  2. One owner per phase. Someone on the team approves each module's output before it goes into the App Brief.
  3. Gates between phases. Don't move to the next phase until its gate question has a written answer.

START HERE - The App Brief and the system prompt

Create one document called App Brief with these headings: Product thesis, Audience, Pricing, Positioning, Roadmap, Evidence, Launch plan, Store page, Channels, Metrics, Decisions log. Leave them empty; the modules fill them in.

Paste this at the start of every Claude session:

You are my product and growth partner for a consumer mobile app. Work only from the information I give you: the App Brief, data, interviews, reviews, store pages and analytics I paste.

Rules:
- Never invent numbers, quotes, competitors' results or benchmarks. If something is missing, write [NEEDS INPUT: what].
- Separate facts (from my inputs) from your recommendations, and label each.
- Be specific: name the user, the situation and the action.
- Keep every output short enough to paste into the App Brief.
- End each answer with: decisions I need to make, and what to put into the App Brief.

Here is the current App Brief:

PHASE 1 - IDEA & STRATEGY

Gate question: Can we name the user, the urgent pain, how we make money, and the first version we will build?

Module 1.1 - Problem & Audience

Step What you produce Done when
User job The job the user is trying to get done, in their words One sentence a user would agree with
Urgent pain Why the current way hurts now You can say when and how often it hurts
Target segment The first group to serve Narrow enough to find 20 of them this week
Product thesis "For [segment], who [pain], our app [outcome] by [mechanism]" Fits in two lines
MODULE 1.1 - Problem & Audience.
Using my notes below, write: (1) the user job in the user's words, (2) the urgent pain, with when and how often it happens, (3) the first target segment, narrow enough to reach 20 people this week, (4) a two-line product thesis: For [segment], who [pain], our app [outcome] by [mechanism].
Flag any part that rests on assumptions rather than evidence.
My notes: [paste]
